Eligibility Requirements:

Art Enables serves adult artists with intellectual and developmental disabilities and individuals with a mental health diagnosis. Artist must be 21 years of age or older and live in the DC metro area. Previous art experience is not a requirement, only a genuine interest in the art-making process and developing as a professional artist.

Art Enables is a fee-for-service program. To become a resident artist at Art Enables, artists must have funding from a sponsoring agency/organization or have the capacity to meet the fee requirements independently. Art Enables has a limited number of Artist Scholarships available for those unable to meet the fee requirements.

How to Apply:

All interested artists must go through a formal intake interview and assessment process. Currently, our program is at capacity and no additional intakes will occur before July 2024. If you would like to be contacted when space opens please complete the form below.
